Home Visits

Home Visits are only for people who are house bound and those who have a very serious illness. Your doctor can see 3 to 4 patients at the surgery in the same amount of time it takes to undertake a single home visit and the facilities for examination and diagnostic testing are much better at our surgery.

Your co-operation is greatly appreciated in asking for a home visit only if absolutely necessary. Except in an emergency, please try to phone the surgery before 10:30am to request a home visit. Please help us to help you by giving as much information as you can, as clearly and calmly as possible, about the condition of the patient.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
